Museum Day
On May 3rd, all museums in Solothurn opened their doors to visitors.
It was a very special day – we were delighted to welcome so many guests from Switzerland and Poland. The turnout was fantastic, and we had the pleasure of استقبال numerous visitors until 5:00 PM.
We were especially pleased to meet Polish guests from Zurich, as well as visitors from as far away as Australia – even from Sydney!
The atmosphere was extremely warm and full of positive energy. Thank you all for being part of this event and helping to make it so special.
This day is of particular importance for Polish people, as it marks Constitution Day on May 3rd – the first constitution in Europe and the second in the world.
We warmly invite you to join us again next year and, in the meantime, encourage you to take part in the upcoming events organized by the museum.
Dear Friends,
On the occasion of the celebration
of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ
at Easter,
we wish you all the best!

An Interesting Meeting with a Secondary School Class from Vilnius
In mid-March, a special online meeting took place from the exhibition rooms of the Tadeusz Kościuszko Museum in Solothurn with students from the Władysław Syrokomla Gymnasium in Vilnius.
The class teacher and the students followed the virtual tour of the museum with great interest. The director of the museum told the story of Kościuszko and the museum and presented the exhibits. Despite the distance, the students were able to visit our museum, at least for a short time. This meeting shows that the passion for history and exploring remarkable places always finds a way to experience them – at least virtually.
We would like to sincerely thank the class from Vilnius and the teachers for this interesting meeting.
We also extend our special thanks to Ms. Maria for providing technical support during the meeting. We warmly invite other schools to take part in an online meeting with our museum.
280th Birthday of Tadeusz Kościuszko
On February 4 of this year, we celebrated the milestone birthday of Kościuszko.
We marked this special anniversary at the museum in a small gathering with a birthday cake. A tour of the exhibition and engaging conversations were, of course, also part of the celebration.
But that was not all: At the Royal Castle in Warsaw, solemn ceremonies took place in front of Kościuszko’s heart. Not only representatives of various societies attended, but also a delegation from our museum. Mr. Pawłowski and Mr. Sulmirski laid flowers and invited those present to share a birthday cake.
We would like to thank everyone in Warsaw and Solothurn for preserving the memory of this great man.
A Musical Portrait of Tadeusz Kościuszko
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We would like to introduce you to the lesser-known artistic side of Tadeusz Kościuszko. Not everyone knows that he had an artistic talent – he painted, drew, and composed music.
On our YouTube channel, we invite you to embark on a unique journey following the traces of his musical sensitivity.
The recordings were made in the beautiful interiors of the palace in Radziejowice. This is an opportunity to discover the lesser-known side of the hero of two continents.
We invite you to listen, subscribe to our channel, and share the recordings!
Solurian
We are pleased to present an engaging popular-science publication dedicated to one of the most outstanding figures in Polish history – Tadeusz Kościuszko – as well as to the city that played an important role in the final phase of his life. The publication is titled “SOLURIAN”.
The title refers to the Baroque city of Solothurn, located in the canton of the same name.
The publication is an anthology of articles written by authors with diverse academic, cultural, and geographic backgrounds. Its shared goal is to present Tadeusz Kościuszko not only as a national hero, but also as a figure of universal significance – a symbol of the struggle for freedom, equality, and human dignity.
We hope you find it a fascinating and inspiring read.
The book is available in German and Polish only, and can be purchased at the museum or ordered for delivery.
